Best park along the Monon trail for volleyball, kids: Canterbury Park

By Jason Moriber • Aug 13th, 2008 • Category: Parks/Recreation

Although one of the smaller city parks, Canterbury park is a gem. Bordered by the Monon trail and the quiet Canterbury neighborhood this family-centric park is a perfect destination for some rest, picnic (under the canopy), or play (swings, slides, etc.). The volleyball court which doubles as a sand-pit for digging is an added bonus. Close to Broad Ripple, and the shops on 54th street (did someone want to go to Mama Carolla’s?), the park is easy access to whatever you need.

The park is at 5510 N. Carvel Ave.

*One notable flaw is the lack of a public bathroom, so if you have kids plan for stop in Broad Ripple before you head over.
