The Urban Planning Scholar Series

By Jason Moriber • Dec 20th, 2007 • Category: IndianaCity is Phenomenal

A group effort, organized, produced and sponsored by members of the Multi-Modal Task Force, Health by Design and B-TOP (Bloomington Transportation Options for People), and many many others, this phenomenal lecture series is a true gem, a platform that seeks to elevate and educate our beloved IndianaCity.indy_loop.jpg

Taking place about once every three to four months, this series has brought the Indy public a select trove of scholars, informing and inspiring the audiences with thought provoking and sometimes progressive steps, angles, and data that can make Indy a greater and more sustainable city.

Past scholars have included Dr. Robert Cervero of UC Berkley, speaking on the balance between urban planning and suitable transportation, Michael Lewyn on Urban Sprawl, and Lawrence D. Frank on the health influencing aspects of the built environment.

The next engagement is planned for January 18th, 9:00-11:00am – Indiana Government Center South – Auditorium. Speaking will be Dan Burden of Walkable Communities LLC.

Phenomenal!
